The Creative Curriculum® at Traditional Centers

At Traditional Centers, we proudly use The Creative Curriculum®, a comprehensive, research-based program designed to inspire children to learn through exploration, discovery, and play. Specifically created for early learners, the curriculum supports growth in every area of development—social, emotional, physical, and cognitive—while laying a strong foundation for lifelong academic success.
The program balances teacher-guided instruction with child-initiated exploration, allowing us to nurture each child’s unique strengths, interests, and learning styles. Through thoughtfully designed classrooms, engaging studies, and hands-on activities, children develop critical skills in literacy, math, science, the arts, and problem-solving.
Aligned with the New York State Early Learning Standards, The Creative Curriculum not only prepares children for kindergarten readiness but also builds their confidence, curiosity, and love of learning.
How Our Teachers Bring the Curriculum to Life
Our teachers use The Creative Curriculum® as a framework to help every child achieve important developmental milestones and reach individual learning goals. They plan intentionally, observe closely, and adapt instruction to meet the needs of each learner. Classrooms are enriched with inviting learning centers, small group activities, and opportunities for child-led discovery that encourage independence and creativity.
By blending structured lessons with meaningful play, teachers guide children in developing essential academic and social skills. Most importantly, our educators foster curiosity, confidence, and independence—helping children not only succeed in school but also thrive as lifelong learners.
Toddlers (24–36 Months)

We use DOE Connections, The Creative Curriculum, and Teaching Strategies GOLD to guide toddlers through an exciting year of exploration. At this stage, children are eager learners, rapidly developing language and surprising adults with their curiosity. Activities are designed around concrete ideas, while teachers tailor experiences to each child’s interests, helping them grow in confidence and knowledge.
